About Calculate Pool

Free pool calculators that give the number first: how many gallons your pool holds, and from that how much of each chemical to add, what size heater and pump you need, and what it costs to fill or heat.

Who runs it

Calculate Pool is an independent project run by one person, Rainer Lang. No pool builder, chemical brand or retailer is behind it. If a result looks wrong, that is my mistake to fix, and I would like to hear about it.

How it works

Every calculator runs in your browser. The volume is surface area × average depth × 7.48 gallons per cubic foot, with the round and oval factors the pool trade uses (5.9) and the formulas printed under each result. The math is checked by automated tests against known pool sizes every time the site is built.

The numbers you type never leave your device. There are no accounts and no sign-up. Your pool's shape and size are kept in your own browser so the other calculators can use them. Details are in the privacy policy.
